At Azienda Agricola Il Cantone, ethics is not an abstract concept: it is the foundation upon which we build every choice, every gesture, every product. We believe in an agriculture that respects life in all its forms, that protects biodiversity, and that places the well-being of animals, people, and the environment at its center.

Our philosophy is based on concrete values: transparency, responsibility, sustainability, and authenticity. We work every day to ensure that what we produce is not only good to eat, but also right to choose.

Animal welfare and respect for the Reggiana breed
We exclusively raise Reggiana Red Cows, a native breed we have chosen to protect and promote. Our animals live in healthy, spacious, and clean environments. They are fed natural fodder grown in our fields and are not subjected to intensive farming practices. Respect for their biological rhythm is the foundation of the quality of the milk they produce.

We believe that animal welfare is a fundamental indicator of corporate ethics. This is why we adopt non-invasive farming practices, constantly monitor cow health, and foster a harmonious relationship between humans and animals.

Environmental Sustainability and Responsible Agriculture
The land is our most precious asset. We cultivate our fields using sustainable methods, reducing the use of chemical fertilizers, practicing crop rotation, and promoting biodiversity. The entire supply chain—from breeding to processing—is internal and controlled to ensure traceability, food safety, and reduced environmental impact.

We use energy responsibly, reduce waste, and are committed to continuously improving our production practices. In fact, we have recently installed a photovoltaic system that allows us to be partially self-sufficient in terms of energy.

Relationship with the local area and its people
Cantone is a family-run business, rooted in the Guastalla area. We collaborate with local authorities, schools, associations, and communities to promote agricultural culture, the protection of native breeds, and nutrition education. We participate in trade shows and markets to meet directly with those who choose our products, tell our story, and share our values.

We believe in direct relationships with consumers: that´s why we have a company store open to the public, where every purchase is also a moment of mutual understanding and trust.
